This pond is located near Hidden Lake and Black Lake in New Mexico. This photo was taken as first light was hitting the pond. There was fog here all three mornings that I photographed the pond. Wildlife was abundant and included wrens, swallows, ducks, muskrat, deer, and elk.
There was a dirt road directly behind me and in order to get this shot I had to go to the far side of the road and make my way through a large culvert that crossed under the road. The creek flows through the culvert and forms the duck pond. This photo was taken with me hunched down in the mouth of the culvert.
