This guy was hanging around the flats near the entrance to Grand Tetons National Park. I saw him on multiple mornings, but finally got close enough with the right light on the last day I saw him there.

Surprise Lake, Grand Tetons

This is a long exposure of Surprise Lake in Grand Tetons National Park. This lake can be reached from the Lupine Meadow Trail head. The hike is around 9.5 miles round trip with much of it being switchbacks. Bears frequent this area and and I have seen both Grizzly and Black bear on this hike in previous years. Just a little further up the trail is Amphitheater Lake.
Started the climb before daybreak and got to the lake just before the sun fully lit the lake.

Unusual morning in Northern Colorado with fog. This was taken along the Devil's Backbone outside of Loveland, Colorado. The fog was just starting to breakup and patches of light were coming through.

Catfish Lake

Private lake on a ranch in southern Oklahoma. I don't remember if it has an actual name, but a good friend took me fishing here the last time I was in Oklahoma and we caught large Channel Catfish all afternoon and evening. I now think of it as "Catfish Lake". I got this photograph just as we were loading the boat to go home.

I don't usually revisit photos once I have finished them, but after showing the quad-toned version of this one to a friend of mine who is a painter, I was persuaded. He really liked the toning and texture of the original version, but was disappointed not to see color in the thistle.

I went back to the beginning and decided that instead of quad-toning, I would warm things up a little to better match the color of the thistle. I duo-toned the entire image to a platinum feel, went back to the original again and layer masked the thistle. I Imported it to the duo-tone and then added textures. I ended up really liking both versions, so here it is. Please let me know what you think.
